Katie Taylor bids to become two-weight world champion in Manchester live on Sky Sports

Katie Taylor can develop into a world winner when she challenges Christina Linardatou for the WBO belt live on Sky Sports.
The Irish superstar has been crowned as the undisputed lightweight champion following a hard-fought triumph over Delfine Persoon at June and now aims a global name in a higher weight category at Manchester Arena, with Anthony Crolla’s farewell fight and Joshua Buatsi’s WBA light-heavyweight title eliminator against Blake Caparello.
Taylor intends to cement her status as the world’s greatest female boxer in the future and fully is relishing her WBO title clash.
“I had some of my first pro fights at the Manchester Arena and also to come back in November and headline a card a couple years on is astonishing,” explained Taylor.
“It’s played host to a enormous nights in boxing background so I am honoured to be part of the tradition.
“It’s a new challenge in a new weight and something I’m really excited about. I feel as if I have so much left to achieve in the game and becoming a two-weight world winner is one of those goals.
“There are still numerous enormous fights out there for me like the Amanda Serrano struggle, a rematch with Delfine Persoon along with a fight with Cecilia Br??khus but the first objective is November 2 and winning yet a second world title.
“I really don’t have any issues making lightweight so that I think I can move between the two weights. I always want to drive myself and Christina is an excellent world champion, so it will be a major test for me.”
However, Linardatou, with one reduction and 12 wins, believes she can inflict a devastating first defeat Taylor.
“I plan on leaving England with my title,” she said. “If I need to knock on Katie Taylor outside to be able to retain the title, that’s what I will do.”

Mancunian Crolla contributes to the scene of his biggest triumph, a stoppage win Darleys Perez to earn the WBA lightweight belt in November 2015, along with also the 32-year-old will have one struggle earlier this season after falling short against champion Vasiliy Lomachenko.
Buatsi recently stopped Ryan Ford in seven rounds but should receive a sterner struggle contrary to Australian Caparello, a former world title challenger, who’s shared the ring with Sergey Kovalev and Andre Dirrell.
Felix Cash defends his Commonwealth middleweight title against English Champion Jack Cullen and Gamal Yafai may take another step towards a major name in the division.
“I’m so happy to be back in Manchester with this enormous show,” explained Matchroom Boxing manager Eddie Hearn.
“Katie Taylor has become established among the biggest stars in world boxing and she bids to make more history by turning into a multi-weight world champion with challenging WBO super-lightweight champion Christina Linardatou.

“Hometown hero Anthony Crolla rolls the dice one more time since he takes a part in his final fight in the sport in the stadium that has functioned so many epic poem Anthony Crolla nights.
“Even the stabilisers are away for Joshua Buatsi because he takes a enormous step up against tough Australian Blake Caparello at a WBA world title eliminator and there’s a brilliant national middleweight conflict between Commonwealth champ Felix Cash along with English champ Jack Cullen.
“There is a lot more under those four conflicts on what’s going to be a massive night of boxing.”
