The Ryder Cup may be performed to limit home advantage, states Europe captain Padraig Harrington.
The home side has won six of the seven editions.
48, harrington, certainly can captain Europe from the USA at Whistling Straits and has played in six Ryder Cups.
“Forty, 50 years in the future, it will most likely be best to have a neutral set-up,” stated the Irish three-time significant winner.
“Then there is no setting a golf class as we did from Europe (in Le Golf National) so it had been tight off the tee and level was a really great score.
“If you went to Hazeltine, it was a birdie-fest.”
Since the”wonder of Medinah” in 2012 if Europe came from 10-4 down to conquer the USA 14.5-13.5, the Ryder Trainers have all been comfy home wins.
Europe won 16.5-11.5 at Gleneagles in 2014, the USA succeeded 17-11 in Hazeltine, Minnesota, at 2016, along with Thomas Bjorn’s team succeeded 17.5-10.5 at Le Golf National in France this past year.
Classes can be set up by home captains.
However said Whistling Straits, about the shores of Lake Michigan, won’t be as easy to change for USA captain Steve Stricker.
“This is a far more traditional golf course,” said Harrington. “I am interested to find down the road exactly what Steve has in store, however it does not look like you can do a great deal with this particular golf course.
“It looks like it is in a natural setting along with the weather may be quite varying the week of the Ryder Cup.
“This will be a golf course which tests the players on its merits.”
