Antonio Brown set to feature for Oakland Raiders on Monday night
Antonio Brown is put to match up to the Oakland Raiders on Monday night when he was hung over by a threat of suspension, to end a week.
The receiver was through a tumultuous preseason that included an odd foot injury brought on by a threat and a cryotherapy device to quit the NFL due to a row over a helmet he wanted to wear that the league deemed dangerous.
Those problems reached a mind with reports claiming Raiders and Brown general manager Mike Mayock became embroiled in an altercation which threatened to acquire physical.
The row blew up following Mayock issued Brown with a letter confirming substantial penalties for lost practice sessions while solving his helmet issues – Brown subsequently posted the letter Instagram with the words”if your own team would like to hate” printed across it.
Throughout the episode, Brown was fortunate to have said to Mayock”I will hit you in the face” then punted a local ball off, adding”good me for this”.
Reports surfaced later on Thursday that the Raiders would suspend Brown because of their Week One date with all the Denver Broncos.
But, amid additional asserts that Brown had issued an”emotional apology” for his part in the Mayock row,” Raiders head coach Jon Gruden confirmed on Friday the 31-year-old will be accessible for Oakland’s season opener.
Gruden said:”I don’t actually have a prepared statement but I will only say Antonio is back today. We’re ready to proceed and very enthusiastic about that.
“He’s had a good deal of time to think about things and we’re delighted to have him back. I know Raider Nation is excited about that too.”
When asked if he would play Monday night, Gruden included:”That is the strategy, that is the plan, yes.”
