Fanny Logan wins the John Musker Stakes at Yarmouth

Fanny Logan continued her curve when completing a hat-trick of wins in The company from the EBF Stallions John Musker Fillies’ Stakes.

By backing up recent victories at Salisbury and York with a clear-cut success from the mile-and-a-quarter decoration having completed second on her debut at the Norfolk trail behind Mehdaayih last October, the John Gosden-trained three-year-old went.
Overcoming the draw in stall 16, the girl of Sea The Stars hit the front before quickening clear to defeat runner-up Bighearted by three seasons approaching the final furlong.
Rab Havlin, riders of this 6-5 winner, said:”It was a tricky draw. I had been in supporting three wide and I had been very happy there, but because they thinned out, I ended up just two off the fence which was ideal and I had a run around to be honest.
“She was the course filly coming into the race and barring any hiccups or poor visitors, we believed she was going to do that and that is what has happened.
“She travelled up beyond both and when I pressed her, she promptly responded and just kept at it.
“I believe it is an update on Salisbury as she was still somewhat raw there and wanted to pull her head running up the mountain and we struck some soft earth across the bend and then that stopped her today she dropped her head right away.
“I think that ground was perfect for her and I think a mile and a quarter is her trip for now.”
Joseph O’Brien saddled his first two runners in the trail using Cnoc An Oir ending best of his pair over five lengths back .
Tom Marquand, rider of Cnoc An Oir, stated:”She raced, but sadly she simply got touched away for that bit of black kind they were afterwards. It turned out to be a significant run the same. Hopefully Joseph will deliver a couple more over here.”
