Hull KR trio Josh Drinkwater, Chris Atkin and James Greenwood leaving club

Hull KR have announced that Australian Josh Drinkwater will leave the club at the close of the year, together with forward and Chris Atkin James Greenwood.
The departures of Greenwood and Atkin was anticipated and the former has secured a contract using Salford for 2020.
However, Drinkwater’s exit was unexpected, particularly with his spouse Danny McGuire retiring.
Drinkwater has started each game for Rovers since linking them from Catalans Dragons to a deal at the onset of the season.
Atkin has a bit-part role for much of the effort, while Greenwood was sidelined since March with a knee injury.
Hull KR head coach Tony Smith, who signed a new three-year contract at the weekend, said:”I’ve loved my time with three of these young men in terms of working together.
“Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to coach James but he’s been a pleasure around the place and a professional with respect to how he has been rehabbing.
“Chris and Josh are tremendous and I wish them well in their careers.”
Atkin and drinkwater have been all set to play their game for the Robins on Friday as soon as the Yorkshire club have a chance to procure their Super League success – live on Sky Sports.
Atkin will join with his Swinton boss Ian Watson when he combines the Red Devils.
“I am quite excited,” he said. “Watto was that the one who brought me in at Swinton and gave me my own professional introduction.
“Ever since then, I have always wanted to work with him and this chance has come up and I’m really looking forward to it and feeling determined to get back to it.
“He’s a really terrific coach and he’s demonstrated that this season.”
